How do the members of his family react when they find out what Gav is accused of?

At first they get very confused because they can’t imagine that Gav has murdered people. Then they only get sad and affraid.

They get treated very bad and people act like the family are criminals too.

• Why do you think people react that way?

Because they are affraid of the family and they feel like they want revenge.

• What is the role of the newspapers in creating this reaction, and why do you think the newspapers are so interested in Gav's family?

Because the papers feel that it will be a great article if they write about some murderers relatives. A great article will generate money so thats why they do it.

• Is it right that the family members of a criminal have to move away and change identities? Could they have dealt with this situation in any other way? 

They don’t have to but for their own safety it was the best way. Maybe one of the victims relatives wanted revenge? If the person knew where they lived they could be assasinated.
